Sr. Director/Director of Product Marketing

Core Purpose:

We are in need of a Sr. Director/Director of product marketing who can shape the marketing strategy and plan through our routes to market, evangelize its merits, and drive adoption. The position will require a deep understanding of complex technical product/features, the competitive landscape, and the ability to collaborate cross functionally.

Among the position’s responsibilities:

  • Set GTM strategy and plans for Usermind’s orchestration products. Align execution with cross-functional teams and define/measure acquisition efforts. Measure and report on effectiveness of GTM activities.
  • Build a messaging framework that positions the company and resonates with a broad spectrum of audiences. Constantly explore ideal techniques for expressing the messaging for maximum consumption.
  • Gather trends and market insights through qualitative and quantitative research. Use those insights to influence both product and GTM direction as well as what natural adjacencies exist to our existing portfolio of products.
  • Conduct industry and competitive intelligence to analyze customer segments, trends, competitive product offerings. Use those insights to build battlecards that make a strong case for Usermind.
  • Translate technical product features into clearly articulated customer value/benefits designed to communicate with existing and potential customers, including product/feature overviews, presentations, and research/case studies.
  • Identify our ideal target audience along with key buyers and influencers then develop compelling, excellent story-telling messaging for each. Leverage those insights to influence message and tone across all customer touch points.  
  • Determine the price our products should be offered and create/update pricing as needed.
  • Anticipate and address the needs of various sales and partner channels and geographies. Proactively engage them to ensure they are equipped to be effective.

Key Requirements:

  • 8-15 years of product marketing experience, with most of that experience in the martech software/SaaS space.
  • Superior people skills with proven ability to build and lead a team.
  • Data driven marketing experience preferred, including experience fielding and synthesizing primary research (both quantitative and qualitative).
  • Excellent project management skills essential, with proven ability in juggling multiple deadlines and gaining alignment across multiple stakeholder organizations.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills. Specifically, ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a matrixed environment. Ability to gain alignment across multiple stakeholders and move decisively with supported recommendations is critical.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills critical. Person must be able to deconstruct complex problems into actionable insights.
