The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for full-cycle accounts payable and processing invoices in addition to providing accounting support to the accounting team. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, drive efficiencies and process improvements, and work with a variety of internal departments and external vendors. The ideal candidate will have a few years of directly related experience in accounts payable and general accounting, and  be ready to learn, grow, and contribute at a higher level over time at a growing organization.

This is a part-time opportunity working 20 hours a week where you have a large degree of flexibility to pick the hours you work.  We provide full benefits including medical, dental, vision, vacation, sick days, and an Orca card. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the timely month-end close in the processing of accounts payable
  • Process invoices
  • Serve as a key point of contact for both internal and external accounts payable inquires
  • Maintain timely and courteous communication with external and internal vendors/departments
  • Drive efficiencies and improvements within the accounts payable process
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
  • Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records, and reports
  • Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders
  • Reconcile monthly credit card statements
  • Assist with other administrative tasks, including with HR and office management as needed
  • Model and encourage behaviors that support the Usermind values and culture

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years accounts payable or general accounting experience; high-volume experience preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proactive in anticipating issues and able to think outside of the box to resolve issues promptly
  • Strong computer skills, especially Excel and Word
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field or equivalent work experience
